Great increase in revenue in underwater photography

Feb 17, 2021 | 0 comments

As stated by Fior Markets and republished by pttlr.gr, the revenue of underwater photography is expected to triple by 2027 and from $ 4.8 billion in 2019 to reach $ 15.3 billion in 2027.

AGAINST THE CURRENT

Although the global trend for the industry is negative, this is not the case with underwater photography and this is mainly due to two factors.

  • The number of people involved in diving is constantly increasing and they want to record their underwater moments to share them with friends and post them on social media.
  • This field of photography has not yet been affected by camera phones as while there are underwater phone housings, they are not widely known nor safe, therefore users turn to action cameras or cameras with underwater housing.

It remains to be seen whether the Fior Market forecasts will be verified or whether factors such as the pandemic will halt this market trend.
